WINLESS Stourbridge RFC will be looking to kick-start their National League Two campaign this Saturday (3pm kick-off) when they host Mounts Bay in their first home game of the season.

Stour will be looking for a confidence boosting win at Stourton Park after suffering their second straight defeat of the season away at Birmingham Solihull Bees.

Director of rugby Neil Mitchell is looking forward to his side running out in front of their home fans after a difficult start to the new campaign.

He said: “It will be great to be back home.

“Last season we made Stourton Park a fortress and attracted some massive crowds and we will be looking for something similar this time around.

“I implore the people of Stourbridge to get down and support our young side on Saturday and fingers crossed the weather will be good.

“Just like we have in the past we will be looking to win playing our entertaining style of rugby.

“In my opinion will be even more entertaining to watch this season with the back-line we have been able to assemble.”

Mitchell is now keen to take the valuable lessons learnt from the two defeats with them into the Mounts Bay clash.

He added:“It was always going to be a difficult way to start the season with away fixtures at fully professional outfits Cambridge and Birmingham Solihull Bees.

“While we were unlucky to come away with only a bonus point at Cambridge we were disappointing against the Bees.

“On Saturday we were probably outclassed by their experience that comes with being professional.

“My young side have learnt a lot from the experience and are now looking forward to Saturday.”

Missing Saturday’s home clash with head injuries will be Tom Jordan and Ben Hughes.
