A moving exhibition celebrating the contributions of African and Caribbean communities will kick off Black History Month in Dudley.
The council’s archive and local history service will host black history month this year by staging community events through October.
People will have the chance to read the stories and memories of many people who have moved to the West Midlands from other parts of the world by visiting the ‘moving here’ exhibition.
It covers topics such as the home country, experiences of war, first impressions and looking to the future.
Councillor Michael Evans, cabinet member responsible for libraries and archives, said: "These events will give people a real opportunity to explore and understand the contribution that African and Caribbean communities in the West Midlands make to our borough.
“The exhibition will raise awareness of different cultural traditions and highlight how they contribute to the modern society in Dudley."
The moving here exhibition will be at Dudley archive and local history service, Mount Pleasant Street in Coseley between October 2 and 31. Opening times are 9am to 5pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, 9.30am to 7pm on Thursdays and 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday October 6 and Saturday October 20.
