THE National Trust and Moseley Old Hall were the subjects of the talk by Patricia Boyd at our August meeting.

There are about 200 houses, 160 gardens, 9 archaeological sites, 16 chapels, many estates, and miles of coastline and beaches preserved and managed by the Trust. This institution is doing great work in preserving our heritage for the future generations.

Moseley Old Hall, dating back to the 17th century, has been preserved as a family house.

It was taken into care, for preservation, by the National Trust in 1960. Its claim to fame is that Charles II slept and was hidden there on his flight from the lost battle in Worcester in September 1651, on his way to exile in France. The bed Charles II slept in, is on display.

As usual the tea and biscuits gave sustenance to the members as they socialised , before the meeting was closed by the chairman.

Members visited Moseley Old Hall on the 3rd September.

New wembers will be welcomed.
