THE only way to describe the 62nd “Clent Flower Show” held on Saturday September 13th at Clent Parish Hall and opened by Anne and Ken Quiney, long standing members of our club, is “a blooming good show”.

The event drew more competing participants than previous years, including a pleasingly large number exhibiting in the children’s classes and an excellent number of visitors not to mention our local MP, Miss Julie Kirkbride.

Despite the bad weather experienced recently, the exhibits were of a remarkably high standard in all classes thus indicating the hard work and dedication of all participants.

September’s regular meeting will be held on Friday the 26th at Clent Parish Hall when Howard Drury will be telling us of “Switzerland: Flower Hunting in the Bernese Oberland”, yet another meeting not to be missed.

Clent Gardening Club offers a varied programme of interesting garden based talks, quizzes and visits so whatever your gardening interests, we will have something for you; so why not come and find out more about us?

All are welcome to meetings on the fourth Friday of each month at 7.30 for 7.45 p.m. normally held at the Clent Parish Hall, Church Avenue, Clent. For further details please contact John Babb on 0121 550 1176.
