EAGUE leaders Dudley Kingswinford RFC are ready for their biggest test of the season when they travel south to face an unbeaten Hereford.
DK sit proudly top of Midlands Division Two West after making it three wins out of the three with a resounding 43-15 triumph away at Camp Hill on Saturday.
The Heathbrook outfit are level on points with this weekend’s hosts, who have also won all their fixtures since winning promotion from Division Three last season.
Head coaches Neil Shillingford and Mark Lockley are expecting a stern test in Herefordshire.
Shillingford said: “No disrespect to the teams we have already played, but we see the Hereford game as our biggest test of the season so far.
“Like us they have started the season well and a trip to their place is always a difficult proposition.
“People will be looking at us as the team to beat and I’m sure Hereford will be no different.
“Against Camp Hill we stepped it up a level from the week before for half an hour but for this week’s clash we will need to go up another level.”
The league leaders have been given a host of selection headaches ahead of the top-of-the-table clash.
The key duo of Gareth Davies and Simon Fletcher have been ruled out due work commitments, while Jak Davis, Gareth Bown and Jordan Brookes remain injury doubts.
The club have also been left reeling with the news that second rower Shaun Griffiths will miss the rest of the season after it was decided he will need knee surgery.
