A Black Country film company is appealing for extras to star in their latest film Eight Ball.

Social Spectrum Media set up by Matt Stroyde and Mark Grainger, both from Stourbridge and later joined by Damien Hyde, are currently gearing up to start shooting their next project and need up to 150 people to feature in a nightclub scene.

The trio originally worked under the name The Frames, but decided to change the name as they were unable to register as there was already an existing company with the same name.

They are aiming to improve on Eight Ball after the success of last year’s film Milk, which was shown at Wolverhampton Lighthouse Cinema and also shown on Propeller TV.

Extras for the nightclub scene are required for filming at the Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton on Wednesday November 5, at 9.30am.

Budding actors will need to be dressed in their clubbing clothes and will need to bring their own lunch or money to buy lunch.

Matt said: “We are promoting this as a community project, so instead of saying to people come and stand in front of the camera for a few hours, we want them to actually act like it is a night out which they have been looking forward to for some time.

Matt added: “We are raising our own budget again and we are planning to use better technology, more crew, a more complex script and more locations.”

“Extras can bring their cameras to the shoot and can take pictures in and around the set at any time, whether we are filming or not.

“The pictures will be used as a slideshow extra on the DVD and anyone involved will have the chance to see themselves on the big screen when we premiere, they will also be credited for their part in the making of the film.”
