A KINGSWINFORD mother who found hope after a personal tragedy is preparing to share her story to help others.
Gail Chamberlain’s book about her son Matthew’s battle against leukaemia and his death in 1986, aged just four, raised thousands of pounds for the Oncology unit at Birmingham Children’s hospital.
The book tells how researchers retained Matthew’s medical records to help develop new treatments for the disease, offering hope to families coping with childhood cancer.
Since the book was published last year, Gail has been invited to speak at many public meetings to share her experience with people coming to terms with bereavement.
Gail, a pastor at Calvary Church, Stallings Lane, will be bringing her message of hope to the Copthorne Hotel, Level Street, Brierley Hill, on Sunday October 12.
The meeting, in the Earls Suite, starts at 7pm and is free to enter, donations to Birmingham Children’s Hospital would be welcomed.
