People who are interested in fostering are invited to attend one of Sandwell Fostering Team’s informal information events during October.
The Sandwell team works with 200 families looking after Sandwell foster children and 35 more families are needed to come forward.
People are invited to attend the information events for an opportunity to learn more about fostering by talking to foster carers.
Information events are taking place on Monday October 13 from 10am to 12.30pm and on Wednesday October 23 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Crystal House, Crystal Drive, Sandwell Business Park, Smethwick.
Harmanda Mangat, fostering service manager, said foster carers have a vital role to play in giving children in care the best possible start in life.
She said: "Anyone can apply to become a foster carer as long as they have a spare bedroom and the qualities, skills and experience required to look after children in care."
People who become foster carers are given an allowance to cover the cost of caring for a child as well as receiving training and ongoing support from the fostering team.
