A WOLLASTON butcher has solved a porky product problem with the help of online Stourbridge News readers.

A new sausage flavoured with stilton cheese and apricots was without a name until butcher Lawson Easthope from Easthope and Boxley, on Bridgnorth Road, asked for suggestions from readers, with a £50 hamper of meat up for grabs as a prize for the winning idea.

The competition closed on September 30 and, after much deliberation, Lawson chose to name the new banger with Jan Smith’s suggestion of Blue Moon.

Lawson said: “It’s fantastic, I made my selection based on what Jan wrote - Jan really put some thought into this.”

Jan clicked on to www.stourbridgenews.co.uk to submit the entry and explain why Blue Moon fits the bill.

Jan said: “Blue because of the stilton, Moon because of the shape of the apricot and the fact that some people think the moon is made of cheese.”
