GLASS artists Carrie Fertig and Robyn Smith were voted equal winners of this year’s British Glass Biennale People’s Prize.
The pair received exactly the same number of votes for their popular pieces of work which formed part of this year’s Biennale, the UK’s biggest showcase of contemporary glass, at Amblecote’s Ruskin Glass Centre.
Carrie Fertig’s piece Contentment and Seeing Through The Ages by Robyn Smith were the clear favourites, with James Lethbridge’s Serpentine Chandelier just missing the top spot by two votes.
As part of their prize - winning glass artists will receive professional support and promotional materials donated by Craftsman craft&design Magazine and Warm Glass UK, sponsors of the event.
The next British Glass Biennale will be held in August 2010.
