ON 9 September Probus Club members and guests enjoyed a coach outing to Liverpool - European City of Culture.
Despite a rainy departure and wet journey, the weather improved as we reached Liverpool and we were able to visit the two very contrasting cathedrals. After lunch members explored the Albert Dock area and museums where we were reminded of Liverpool's maritime heritage.
The monthly lunch meeting was held at the Talbot Hotel on 16 September. Following the lunch Alec Beevers gave an entertaining talk on the subject of 'Letters to the Editor' based on his experiences of correspondence with the press. The vote of thanks was given by Bob Smart.
Visiting guests are invited to join our lunchtime meetings which are held at the Talbot Hotel at 1pm on the third Tuesday of each month - contact 01384 376314.
