THANKS to the talent of Kidderminster Male Voice Choir and the hard work of Stourbridge Rotarian John Farmer and his group, not to mention the tasty fish and chip supper, September 19 saw more than £1,000 raised for Mary Stevens Hospice.

The singing and supper event attracted more than 150 folk to Hagley Community Centre, where Rotarians laid on a bar, including real ale, served food at the interval and sent everyone home humming the Dambusters, the 23rd psalm (Vicar of Dibley version), Kwmbayah and many more of the songs performed by the choir.

All funds raised were donated to Mary Stevens Hospice and club president Michael Pettigrew thanked musical director David Barclay and the entire choir, including accompanist Maureen Bowkett, for helping the club to raise these funds and for treating everyone to a thoroughly entertaining evening.
