PROBUS is short for 'Professional/Business'. It is a club for retired men of that ilk.
In Kinver (but we welcome members from surrounding areas), we meet monthly every third Wednesday for an excellent lunch at the Fox in Stourton, followed by a speaker.
This September was one of our quarterly ladies' lunches, and our speaker was Mo Rai who outlined with great professionalism the latest situation regarding Wills. The subject was unfortunately more relevant to this particular audience than they would perhaps wish!
Later in the month, many members took part in an organised tour of the Halfpenny Green Vineyard. For a modest outlay, this also included a tutored wine tasting.
It was noticeable how talkative some had become during the subsequent excellent cream tea!
President Michael Cooper demonstrated commendable vocal control whilst thanking the organising Programme Secretary, Michael Froggatt, who sat opposite with a pronounced wide grin!
In October, we welcome Kate Round from Broadfield House glass museum.
