TRADERS in Stourbridge have called a meeting to discuss controversial plans to make the town's High Street and Market Street traffic free on Saturdays.
New town centre manager Hannah Rogers has come up with the idea to pedestrianise the main road into the town on Saturdays to enable the regular farmer's markets to move into the High Street when redevelopment work gets underway in the Crown Centre.
But some town traders fear the move could affect their businesses, preventing delivery vans from dropping off goods.
Stourbridge Chamber of Trade is inviting all town traders to discuss the plan at an impromptu meeting tonight at The Well coffee shop in the High Street, starting at 6pm.
