Both sides strived to get the first score but it was Andy Tromans who broke the deadlock with a massive penalty conversion from the half-way ine to put Old Hales ahead in the 39th minute.
The second-half saw Old Hales gaining better possession from the breakdowns and putting the opposition under a great deal of pressure but their defense was tenacious and they had to with Old Hales winger Jake Shellis having his best game of the season so far.
However, it was the hosts who scored next with a well-worked try and conversion that saw them take the lead.
Old Hales fired back with Jake Yeadon and Luke Lewis providing some good line-out ball enabling them to attack.
Old Hales carried play into the home side 22-metre area and James Sadler secured the ball under his arm and charged through the home defence scattering would be tacklers away to blitz over the line to score an unconverted try.
Old Hales suffered some more injuries causing a reshuffle of the on field team.
Old Hales were put under a lot of pressure but the reargaurd defense was superb as Adam Whiteman and David Hunt put in some fine tackles.
The game then went on and on and much to the exasperation of the away supporters the inevitable happened when the home side scored a good try wide out to seal the game.
