STOURBRIDGE Theatre Company is getting set to stage Oscar Wilde's great comedy The Importance of Being Earnest in the grounds of Himley Hall next month.

The popular play is being staged on the lawns of the 18th century stately home from Wednesday July 8 to Saturday July 11.

Seasoned amateur thespians Chris Clarke and Mark Stanley star as English gentlemen Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff - whose practice of sharing the same pseudonym of Ernest threatens their romantic pursuits.

Stage stalwart Sandra Griswold will be taking on the famous role of Lady Bracknell - who utters the immortal phrase “a hand bag”.

And a host of STC regulars also star - including Sandra Pope as Miss Prism.

Tickets for the show cost £9 Wednesday to Friday (concessions £7.50) and £10 on Saturday.
