KINVER screen star Sunita Shroff has been paying tribute to tragic TV colleague Kristian Digby, who was found dead in his London flat yesterday (March 1).

TV presenter, actress and property negotiator Sunita - who starred with BBC daytime TV darling Kristian in property swap show House Swap - has spoken of her shock at the 32-year-old star’s sudden death.

She told the News: “Everyone is literally in such shock. He was so talented - he was the darling of the BBC; it’s just tragic.”

The pair, who last saw each other a few months ago, appeared on screen together on BBC1 last summer in new show House Swap - created by the team behind Homes Under the Hammer and designed to help downsizers and those wanting to move on up to strike a home swap deal to suit both parties.

London-based Sunita, who is about to start work on a feature film called Conquering Heroes, said: “He was off doing other things, but we stayed in touch and were due to meet up.”

She said Kristian, who brought his “unique” presenting style to Stourbridge on numerous occasions when filming the popular Midlands produced To Buy or Not To Buy show, was “lovely to work with”.

She added: “He’d worked as a director himself so he was very, very understanding of what was required of a presenter.

“He was very sharp and great at getting you through the shoot. Everything he said was all self-scripted - he did everything, that was why he was so unique. He was just an all-rounder - a really nice guy, very talented and very popular with To Buy or Not To Buy fans.”

Sunita - who made her name on ITV’s House in the Country - described her tragic co-star as “quite a private, clean-cut, wholesome, clean living guy”.

Kristian, who also presented Holiday, Trading Up, Living in the Sun and Open House, was found dead at his East London flat at 7.45am yesterday in "unexplained circumstances".

A post mortem has yet to confirm the cause of death, but national newspapers have today been reporting that he may have suffocated as a result of a sex game gone wrong.
