WALKERS in Hagley are set to benefit from the stepping up of facilities after the replacement of two vandalised foot bridges.
The public bridges which cross waterways on the golf course near Wassell Grove have been reopened following renovation by Worcestershire County Council's Countryside Team.
The renovation work took place following damage and burning of the two bridges by yobs which resulted in the rural link route across the golf course being unusable.
The work to the 4.8m and 8.1m crossings was part of the Countryside Team's winter maintenance programme across the North East of Worcestershire.
Patrick White, Worcestershire County Council's senior countryside access officer, said: "These two bridges have reconnected Wollescote with Hasbury across a natural rural break reopening a pleasant walk that takes in good views, streams and healthy testing terrain on the doorstep of Birmingham."
