KEEN snappers across Stourbridge have just a few weeks left to submit pictures for a garden centre’s annual charity calendar competition.

Webbs, which has a garden centre in west Hagley, has already received hundreds of images for its seventh calendar competition in aid of local hospices.

More than 1,550 images were entered from 338 photographers into last year's competition, which judges then had to whittle down to 12, depicting each month of the year.

Webbs will produce a 2012 calendar from original photographs in aid of the firm’s chosen charities, Mary Stevens, St Richard's, Primrose, Kemp and Acorns Hospices in Worcestershire.

The judges are again searching for striking images of flowers, gardens, garden scenes, flora and fauna taken by snappers of all ages, amateurs or enthusiasts.

Executive chairman Ed Webb said:” With the incredible snow and ice we have had and the fantastic early spring sunshine, I’m sure we will have some wonderful scenes entered into the competition.

“We are hoping to repeat the previous years’ successes and create a beautiful calendar which will also benefit our local hospices.”

Each hospice will be given hundreds of copies of the calendar to use for fundraising.

The 12 winning entrants will receive Webbs Gift Vouchers worth £30 and 12 copies of the calendar to give to friends and family.

The deadline for entries is Monday June 6.

Judging will take place in July and the calendar will go on sale in the autumn.

Entry forms are available from at Webbs in West Hagley, as well as Wychbold and Ryton Gardens or online from webbsdirect.co.uk
