A MAN and woman escaped after a blaze broke out on the first floor of a house in Wordsley.
The incident began at around 3.30pm on Friday May 6; two fire crews from Brierley Hill and one from Stourbridge were dispatched to the scene on New Street.
An 81-year-old female and a male aged 56 had made their way out of the building prior to the arrival of emergency services, both were given precautionary checks by ambulance staff.
Fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus deployed three hose reels to tackle the fire, which a spokesperson described as severe.
