PRETTY Kingswinford youngster Millie Smith has been crowned this year's Wordsley Festival Princess.
The Fairhaven Primary School pupil fought off stiff competition from a host of aspiring princesses to take the crown.
Nine-year-old Millie, who only entered the competition at the last minute, impressed the judges with her confidence, her elegant princess outfit and long blonde locks at the competition held at Wordsley’s Holy Trinity Church on Saturday May 7.
Her proud mum Lynne Smith was left “very emotional” after the results were announced at the popular pageant.
She added: “I’m really, really pleased. We didn’t know about the event until a couple of days ago; she just loves doing her hair and getting dressed up.”
Millie is now set to join VIP guests including the Mayor of Dudley to open Wordsley Festival taking place on Saturday June 18.
And accompanying her for a right royal day of pampering will be chatty Quarry Bank youngster Ebony Simcox, aged seven, a pupil at Mount Pleasant Primary School, who scooped this year’s rosebud title.
As part of their royal duties, the pretty little pair will also be guests of honour at Wordsley Fun Run on Wednesday June 15 - when they will be starting off the popular road-race and handing out medals to runners crossing the finishing line.
This year’s Wordsley Festival will be held in King George V Park, Bells Lane, Wordsley, and will feature a fun fair, stalls, pony rides, side shows, live music and performances by the winners of this year’s Wordsley’s Got Talent show which will be judged on Saturday May 21.
