HAGLEY voters delivered double delight for the Conservative Party by returning Tory district councillors with thumping majorities.

Chris Scurrell and Steve Colella collected all but 375 of the 2,802 votes cast in Bromsgrove District Council elections on Thursday May 5.

Cllr Colella polled the highest individual votes of any candidate in the district while Cllr Scurrell was returned to the authority for a third term.

Cllr Colella said: “I believe that this sends a very clear message the work Hagley councillors do is being recognised by the voters.

“There will be a number of difficult issues to face over the coming months and years, not least the council’s budget control, maintaining efficient frontline services and continuing to ensure the planners are fully aware of residents’ concerns over the Core Planning Strategy.”
