A STOURBRIDGE drunk driver involved in an incident which left five vehicles damaged has been banned from the roads.
Ian Simmonds, aged 36, was arrested shortly after residents in Norton reported a van had been in collision with the vehicles, in South Road at around 8.40pm on April 11.
At Dudley Magistrates Court, Simmonds, from Lark Hill Road, admitted driving his Renault van while more than twice over the legal limit for a breath test, driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after damaging a Rover 25 car.
He was disqualified from driving for 24 months, instructed to pay £85 costs and ordered to carry out a total of 100 hours unpaid work in the community.
The driving ban will be reduced by six-months if Simmonds completes a state approved driving course and, when sentencing, magistrates took into account his guilty plea.
