A LOVING Stourbridge family is being sought to adopt a gentle greyhound who has spent many months in foster care.
Jaffa is a four-year old black greyhound who has been in the care of Dudley Animal Rescue for over eight months as prospective dog owners opt for smaller dogs instead.
Now volunteers are hoping to find Jaffa a forever home after he has seen many four-legged companions come and go over the last few months.
Marion Fisher, from Dudley Animal Rescue, said dogs normally stay in their care for around two months before being rehomed, but she feared dog lovers were avoiding Jaffa - a retired racing dog - because of financial strains and the thought that he may need regular long walks.
Marion said: "We have had Jaffa now for eight months and it is such a shame because he a loving boy and so affectionate.
"He does not need lots of exercise, just a couple of walks each day and then he will turn into a couch potato and settle down on the sofa to sleep.
"We are finding smaller dogs are being rehomed a lot quicker and this week I rehomed a small dog which had only been fostered for four weeks."
Anyone interested in adopting Jaffa can call Marion on 01902 676559.
However Jaffa cannot be rehomed to a family with cats or young children.
