READERS can have their book troubles cured by an online doctor who will issue a prescripton for the perfect novel from borough libraries.

During two online sessions on Friday May 20 and Monday May 23 library borrowers will be able to chat to the Dudley libraries book doctor who will diagnose book troubles and offer a prescription for the perfect read.

Kate Millin, assistant director of adult, community and housing services, said: “With so many books to choose from in libraries, it can sometimes be a little overwhelming.

“This is a quirky initiative to encourage people to read books they wouldn’t ordinarily read and is a first for Dudley borough libraries.”

The book doctor will help borrowers find their perfect read by asking what they like to read and identifying new authors and genres.

Sessions, being held as part of Big Book Fortnight, will take place from 9am till noon on Friday May 20 and from 2pm till 4pm on Monday May 23. To take part go to www.dudey.gov.uk/libraries and follow the link.
