FIVE people were arrested yesterday (Thursday) after police investigating a number of burglaries swooped on addresses around the borough.
It proved a busy day for Dudley’s detectives who called at properties in Brierley Hill, Stourbridge and Halesowen to make arrests in connection with various offences of burglary over the past month.
Two people, a 23-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, have since been charged in connection with a burglary which happened on May 15 in Hawbush Road, Brierley Hill, and were due to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court today (Friday May 20).
Detective Inspector Nigel Smith, from Dudley CID, said: “We received various information relating to each of these incidents.
“As a result of that information we were able to visit addresses to bring these suspects in for questioning.”
Those arrested but not charged included a 39-year-old man arrested from Halesowen, on suspicion of burgling a house on Manor Way on May 9; a 33-year-old man arrested from a second-hand store in Halesowen in connection with a burglary at a house on Newfield Crescent on April 13; and a 29-year-old woman arrested from Stourbridge in connection with a burglary at a house on South Road on May 4.
All three were granted police bail pending further enquiries.
Anyone with information relating to suspicious activity or possible criminal behaviour, including the sale of suspected stolen goods, is urged to call police on 0345 113 5000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
