A KINVER butcher is hoping the upper crust will prove a popular addition to attractions at the village Country Fayre.
Jimmy Constable, from Kay’s Butchers on High Street, has created an exclusive pork pie based on village heritage for the event, which will take place on Sunday June 19.
The pies will be on sale at pubs throughout the village on the weekend of the fayre, including in the real ale tent on Stag Meadow.
Jimmy Constable said: “I decided to do my bit to support the event, so I set about devising a new recipe and came up with Nailmaker’s Pie.
“Years ago the area was well known for its nail making industry, so I decided to name my celebration pies after a bit of Kinver history.”
“Hungry local villagers have been volunteering to sample the pies and the reaction has been very positive.
“It’s a traditional pie, but with some very tasty, special ingredients. But don’t ask me for the recipe – that’s staying a secret.”
