A STOURBRIDGE student is back on the road after a two-wheeled handout from the long arm of the law.
Cops from the Amblecote neighbourhood team handed over a bike from their found property section to 19-year-old Neal Walton, who had his own bike stolen from Wordsley at the beginning of May.
Neal was having trouble getting to classes at the Glass House College in Stourbridge until officers stepped in with their donation.
Spokesman for the Amblecote team, Sergeant Keith Pagan, said: “Unfortunately we were unable to trace the whereabouts of Neal’s stolen bike but I was approached by one of his teachers to see if we could assist in helping to find him another bike.
PCSO Jamie Fisher, who organised the bike handover, added: “It is good to see someone benefit from what would otherwise have been an unclaimed bike which would have been sent for auction.”
