JOGGERS, runners and walkers are invited to take part in Wordsley’s traditional fun run taking place later this month.

The popular race, which starts and finishes in King George V Park in Bells Lane, is taking place on Wednesday June 15 - ahead of the main Wordsley Festival event on Saturday June 18.

People can run or walk the two-mile event - which gets underway at 7.45pm.

Participants are also invited to don fancy dress or take their dogs along. Runners can also raise money for their own chosen charities along the way.

Organiser Mick Davies said: “There’ll be medals for all those who complete the course as well as prizes for the first male, first female and most senior and youngest finishers.”

The entry fee is £4 for adults and £3 for under 16s.

Any sponsorship money raised can be donated to a charity of the entrant's choice.

To enter in advance send your name, address, phone number and date of birth, plus a 9x6 SAE and the correct fee, payable to Wordsley Festival Group, to 53 Sandringham Road, Wordsley, near Stourbridge, West Midlands DY8 5HL.

Last-minute runners can sign up on the day but must register by 7.15pm.
