JAFFA the greyhound has finally found his forever home after a kind-hearted Amblecote couple fell for his charms.

The four-year-old black greyhound had spent over eight months being fostered by Dudley Animal Rescue as dog owners kept overlooking him and taking home smaller dogs instead.

That was until Marion Fisher, from Dudley Animal Rescue, turned to the News for help in finding a home for the retired racing dog.

And following our appeal - Martin and Barbara Allchurch, of Finsbury Drive, fell in love with Jaffa's photograph and have given him his happy ending.

The canine-loving couple have always had border collies and after recently losing their last pet decided Jaffa was the dog for them.

Martin said: "We had decided to get another dog when Barbara saw the piece in the paper and saw his picture. She said she wanted him as he looked so lost and lonely."

Following a home check, the couple decided to take in the dog without even meeting him and he was dropped off at his new home by Marion on May 23.

Martin added: "Jaffa is doing fine. He has really settled in and has started to find his way around.

"He comes down to my allotment with me and then settles into my chair at home. He is marvellous."

Marion said: "He had been with us over eight months, but it was worth the wait because he has gone to a lovely home, which he so deserved."
