A 31-YEAR-OLD Lye woman has been found guilty of repeatedly stabbing another woman in a vicious attack in Birmingham.
Denise Beckford was found guilty of serious assault at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday) following the attack in Archibald Road, Lozells, last year.
The court heard police were called to a house on Lozells Road at around 7.45pm on November 3 after a woman with stab wounds was seen outside the property.
When officers arrived, they found the 20-year-old victim bleeding heavily having fled from her attacker.
She was taken to hospital in a serious condition and released four days later after intensive treatment.
In the days following the attack, police made several witness appeals.
Beckford was finally arrested weeks later by officers as part of an intelligence led operation.
The court heard the attack followed an altercation sparked by a dispute between the victim and Beckford’s uncle.
The victim had worked for the man in his take-away restaurant and Beckford had come to hear of the dispute and took it upon herself to resolve the issue.
Tempers flared and the victim was stabbed multiple times in the neck, shoulder and arm.
A 26-year-old female co-defendant was acquitted of all charges.
Beckford will be sentenced at Coventry Crown Court on July 15.
