A KINGSWINFORD floristry lecturer is celebrating after scooping a silver medal at the Chelsea Flower Show.
Laura Leong, aged 39, won the award representing Cheslyn Hay and Great Wyrley flower club in the Floral Design category.
The display was the club’s debut at the show, which ran from May 24 to 28, and the exhibit featured plants including roses, peonies and sweet peas in a garden style setting.
Laura Leong said: “Staging began at 9.45pm on Wednesday and finished at 6am the next day so it was quite challenging and tiring. It was a great experience that I would recommend to any florist or flower arranger.
“Two of my students also competed in the floristry categories, one also getting a bronze medal.”
