A LYE-based brewery got a boost after being handed a top award from on of Britain’s biggest retailers.
Sadler’s Ales’ Worcester Sorcerer Ale has been announced as a regional winner in the Sainsbury’s Great British Beer Hunt 2011.
The award means the beer will go on nationwide sale in the retail giant’s stores alongside 15 other regional winners from around the UK.
Chris Sadler, from Sadler’s Ales, on Stourbridge Road, said: “We’re over the moon that we’ve been short listed and very excited about trading with Sainsbury’s.
“We have been producing cask and bottled ale for about seven years now and feel that we are now ready with our brand new beer ‘Worcester Sorcerer’ to send our bottled ale throughout the UK.”
The grand final of the beer hunt will take place in September, where two beers will be announced as the overall winners.
The winners will receive a guaranteed, minimum six-month listing in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK from November 2011 onwards.
