STOURBRIDGE rugby fans are planning to be on the ball for fundraising at a family charity event this weekend.
Stourton Park will be the venue for the second Mel Williams Cup and Fun Day on Saturday June 11 when a seven-a-side touch rugby tournament will be the highlight of a host of attractions including a tombola, stocks, refreshments and a balloon race.
The event, which starts at the Bridgnorth Road ground at noon, has been organised by Stourbridge Rugby Club in memory of Mel Williams, a popular player and former club president who died in 2009.
The event will be raising cash for Mary Stevens Hospice and Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital Oncology Ward.
