EXPERTS at a Kingswinford museum will be keeping an eye out for classy glass at their annual paperweight day.
Broadfield House Glass Museum is hosting the event on Saturday June 11 and visitors will be able to bring along items for identification by specialists at the Compton Drive centre.
The event will be open from 10am to 4pm, one of the highlights will be a hot glass demonstration from top designer Alastair MacIntosh, who will be making paperweights on site throughout the day.
Councillor David Stanley, Dudley cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “The paperweight day is one of the most popular events held at the glass museum and visitors come from all over the country to attend.
“We’re delighted to have Alastair MacIntosh demonstrating in the hot glass studio this year, providing a wonderful opportunity for visitors to see a master craftsman at work.”
The event will also feature a wide range of paperweights for sale from some of the country’s leading dealers, including Bob Hall and Just Glass, and an exhibition of millefiori weights by the Paperweight Collectors Circle (PCC).
