ENVILLE recorded a comfortable five wicket home win over basement side Cookley.
Having been asked to bat, Cookley never looked like posting a large total due to accurate bowling, in particular from Jay Willis who followed up his career best figures last week with another excellent performance to take 4-46.
Tom Bingham (2-29) and skipper Adam Tranter (2-26) chipped in to bowl out the visitors for 170 in just 45 overs.
A rain break reduced Enville’s allocation to 46 overs and this was later reduced by a further break to 45.
Cookley captured three early wickets as the hosts were reduced to 26-3.
However, Mat Grainger (44) dug in to add 87 with Rob Miller. Grainger’s departure then brought in Willis who hit a quick-fire 32 before being bowled. But Miller (58 not out) saw the hosts home.
The second XI also recorded a five wicket win against their Cookley opponents.
Tracy Davies recorded figures of 6-47, while Jamie Tristam took 2-47 as the home team were bowled out for 147 in 43.1 overs.
In reply, Enville lost two quick wickets before Chris Bate (66) and Oliver Harris (34) laid the foundation for a convincing victory.
