A SPONSORED dog walk at Himley Hall has raised £1,060 for Cancer Research UK.
Volunteer fundraiser Becky Dorsett organised the event held in the grounds of Himley Park on June 11 as a way of combining her love of dogs with fundraising for a cause close to her heart.
About 30 people and 15 of their canine friends turned out for the event which Leonie Hudson, Cancer Research UK’s area volunteer manager for the Black Country, said “was fantastic”.
She added: “This is the first time we have held the event and we are planning to develop it for next year.”
Money raised will help the charity to fund ground-breaking research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Anyone interested in helping to organise next year’s event can call Leonie Hudson on 07919 576403 or email leonie.hudson@cancer.org.uk
