A FINAL call has gone out to aspiring princesses who are being invited to enter this year’s Stourbridge Carnival Princess competition.

Organiser David Harcourt is hoping this year’s competition will prove just as popular as last year’s pageant which attracted a record 42 entrants.

And he has issued a final call for pretty little misses to take part in the 2011 event which will be judged early on Carnival Sunday (July 3) by Stourbridge author Miranda Dickinson.

Youngsters aged four to ten can enter for the chance to be crowned Stourbridge Carnival Princess or Rosebud.

Entrants can sign up on the day - at 10.15am - and judging will get underway at 10.30am.

Cash prizes are on offer for the winners, who will also get to spend the rest of the day being treated like Royalty; and there will be goody bags for everyone taking part.

Last year Brook Primary School pupil Faith Bowater walked away with the princess title; while Jasmine Ruffle, a pupil at St James’s Primary in Wollaston, was named the rosebud winner.
