A SEA-themed exhibition and fun day promise to make waves at a Kingswinford museum.

Broadfield House Glass Museum in Compton Drive is hosting a Beside the Seaside fun day on Saturday July 16 from 10am to 4pm, to coincide with its ocean inspired summer exhibition.

The free family fun event will feature beach-themed attractions including a Punch & Judy show, a giant sand pit, donkey rides, hook a duck games and seaside shapes glassmaking demonstrations, display of seashells, treasure hunt, prize draw and craft activities.

Home made icecream, traditional home made sweets and barbecue food will also be available on the day which will be brought to life with the sounds of a brass band performing popular seaside tunes.

Councillor David Stanley, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “There’s no need for Dudley families to travel all the way to the seaside this summer, they can simply enjoy the same fun at our glass museum.”

The Beside the Seaside exhibition runs until September 4 and features a host of sun, sea and sand-themed glass jewellery, ceramics, enamels, textiles, paintings and prints.
