STOURBRIDGE maintained their healthy lead at the top of Worcester League Division One with a seven wicket derby win over Oldswinford.
The result means Stour have a 20 point lead over Worcester Nomads, ahead of this week’s home clash with Bromyard.
Oldswinford drop back to sixth. They travel to third-placed Pershore this Saturday.
Stour won the toss and fielded, with James Musk and Jitesh Patel creating early pressure with some tight bowling.
The latter removed the dangerous Dave Martin with his fifth ball and Musk removed Daye Haywood soon after.
Tony Brewer (39) and Lee Nightingale (32) created some resistance but a steady stream of wickets left the hosts looking at a below par score.
Only an unbeaten 52 from Asa Robinson helped Oldswinford post 159-8.
Stour openers Alex Bingham and Steve Game then stayed strong in an imposing atmosphere to put on 53 for the first wicket.
Both departed in quick succession and when skipper Bradley lasted only four balls, Stour were 75-3.
But overseas star Audy Alexander and Josh Banks calmed any nerves as they put on 72 to see the visitors home in the 41st over and seal a vital victory.
Stourbridge second XI enjoyed a comfortable win over Colwall in a game dominated by youngster Ben Mantom.
The 17-year-old hammered an unbeaten 152 as Stour cruised to 295-3 from their overs. Dan Growcott also hit 58.
Adam Jeavons then took five wickets as Colwall were bombed out for just 186.
The thirds recorded a losing draw against Barnt Green.
Skipper Peter Griffiths won the toss and asked Barnt Green to bat on a rain affected track.
Young opening bowlers Matt Jeavons and Umar Khalid used the conditions well to keep the home side to under two runs per over until the halfway point, when they accelerated to post 183 in 49 overs. Dave Colesby and Matt Watts chipped in with two wickets each.
Stour, facing 51 overs in reply, eased to a comfortable losing draw thanks to 36 from 16-year-olds Will Jennings and a belligerent 38 not out from Matt Norgrove. Stour finished on 143-5.
The fourths suffered a three wicket defeat to their Barnt Green counterparts.
Calum Lister struck 42 and Areeb Mohammad 53 but a collapse saw Stour bowled out for 147 in 39 overs.
Mohammad then took 3-29 and Heran Patel chipped in 3-38 but the visitors edged home.
