ENVILLE enjoyed a super weekend as all three teams recorded big wins.
The first team were indebted to their long batting line up and some good bowling and catching as they beat Himbleton by 79 runs.
Enville were asked to bat on a pitch offering some sideways movement as well as variable bounce and after a 50 run opening partnership between Matt Fradgley and Mat Grainger they lost wickets at regular intervals.
From 183-8 with ten overs to go, Tom Bingham and Adam Scott (25) put together the best partnership of the innings.
Bingham hit three sixes and four fours in a knock of 45 but even then Enville's total of 245 seemed a little below par, particularly as the hosts started their reply at Twenty20 pace.
Jay Willis was again the bowling hero as he returned from an early mauling to destroy the Himbleton batting and ended with 6-70. Fradgley, with his occasional leg breaks, gave good assistance taking 3-25 as the hosts slid to 166 all out.
At Enville Hall, the seconds won the toss and elected to bat against their Himbleton counterparts.
After losing an early wicket they scored freely to rack up 231-4, Chris Bate (74), Oliver Harris (50), Spencer Mann (36) and Paul Lippitt (32) doing the damage.
Himbelton’s batsmen had no answer to Enville's opening attack and crashed to 63 all out. Nick Gordon taking 7-38 and Tracy Davies 2-31.
John Branch scored his maiden century as the thirds beat Ombersley by 23 runs.
The veteran openers 104 helped Enville post a commanding 202-8 from 45 overs. Paul Moran then took 4-52 as Ombersley fell short in reply.
