SPECIALISED pieces of equipment can now be bought by a Clent special school after a Stourbridge and Halesowen estate agency firm donated more than £3,000.
Local estate agents Lex Allan and Lex Allan Grove are celebrating a year of supporting their chosen charity Sunfield, a residential special school for children with complex needs including autism.
Company principal Lex Allan and director Dean Grove choose the Clent special school as their charity partner in July 2015 after spending time with some students in their classrooms.
Jointly at the firm’s Halesowen and Stourbridge offices, staff have raised more than £3,000 towards the purchase of specialised pieces of equipment including, sensory resources, communication aids and play therapy toys.
During the past 12 months, staff have held a number of fundraising events including a skittles night, Christmas jumper days and more recently a team of colleagues completed a local three peaks challenge where they hiked the Clee Brown, Malvern and Clent Hills in one day.
Both offices also raised regular funds through their customer feedback ‘WOW’ cards and are planning to continue their support into 2017.
Georgina Forrest, Sunfield’s partnership development manager, said: “Lex Allan and Lex Allan Grove’s long-term commitment to us as a local cause has meant that we’ve been able to purchase much needed items that directly benefit our students during their time living and learning at Sunfield.
“We can’t thank them enough.”
