FREE shuttle buses will transport people from ‘out of this world’ to Himley’s rocket science themed bonfire and firework spectacular tonight (Saturday November 7).

Buses will run from Dudley, Coseley, Sedgley, Quarry Bank, Brierley Hill, Halesowen and Stourbridge to the popuar event - which is expected to attract 25,000 visitors.

The Dudley bus (service 250) will run from Flood Street car park every five minutes from 5.30pm to 8pm to get people to Himley.

The Coseley bus (service 251) - which will run via Vicar Street in Sedgley and Gornal Bus Station - will leave Coseley Roseville Square every ten minutes from 5.30pm to 7.50pm.

The Quarry Bank via Brierley Hill bus (service 249) will leave the Cradley interchange, stand D every 15 minutes from 5.30pm to 7.45pm.

Service 251 will leave Halesowen Bus Station every 20 minutes from 5.05pm and will go to Himley via Stourbridge Bus Station.

Another Stourbridge bus (service 253) will also leave Stourbridge Bus Station every ten minutes from 5pm.

Return services will run from Himley between 9pm and 11pm.

Councillor David Stanley, Dudley’s cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “We want as many people as possible to come along and enjoy the family fun on offer at Himley on Saturday.

“To ensure people from across the whole borough can get to and from the event safely, we have put on a free bus service.”

Himley’s giant funfair will run from 4.30pm; the giant bonfire will be lit at 7.45pm; and the 30-minute firework display starts at 8.30pm.

Admission is £7 for adults, £3.50 for children and senior citizens, free for under fives and £18 for a family ticket (two adults and two children). Car parking is £3.
