A VOLUNTEER fundraiser is inviting dog lovers across the borough to put their best paw forward to help pull in the pounds for Cancer Research UK.
Becky Dorsett is inviting people and their canine pals to join her on Saturday June 11 for a sponsored dog walk around Himley Park.
The 23-year-old from Oldbury decided to organise the walk - which starts at 11am - as a way of combining her love of dogs with raising funds for a cause close to her heart.
Becky said: “There will be a choice of two walk distances on the day. We have tried to make the event accessible to everyone so as many people as possible can come along and enjoy themselves.”
Leonie Hudson, Cancer Research UK’s area volunteer manager for the Black Country, said: “I would like to encourage as many people as possible to register their dogs and join her for what promises to be a very enjoyable morning.
“Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer and continues to do so but we are reliant on members of the public for their support.
“All sponsorship money raised will be used to fund our ground-breaking research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.”
Registration costs £6 per dog.
