CYCLISTS can take their bikes along to libraries across the borough this week for a free health check by a special bike doctor.
To celebrate the return of national bike week, which runs until June 26, Dudley Council’s libraries and road safety department have teamed up to organise events.
The bike doctor will be at Kingswinford Library tomorrow (Tuesday June 21) from 4pm to 6pm and at Coseley Library on Wednesday June 22 from 4pm to 5.45pm.
The bike doctor will carry our minor adjustments and will record any major repairs on a health check sheet and refer people to a nearby bike shop.
Councillor Adrian Turner, Dudley’s cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said: “National bike week is all about encouraging people of all ages to get cycling and keep fit.
“I hope these events will encourage lots of people to dust off their old bikes which they may not have used for a while to make sure they are in good working order and get out and about cycling.
“It’s also a great opportunity for people to come along to their local library and experience all there is on offer.”
