Blakedown WI
The president opened our Christmas meeting and welcomed members of WIs from Hagley, Somerleyton, Bentley Pauncefoot and Brockencote, as well as our own members, their family and friends.
The meeting began with a resounding rendition of Jerusalem. Business was very brief, but mentioned the anti-fraud wallets card wallets available to protect contact less bank cards.
We moved onto tea and mince pies, and a Christmas quiz.
Then, the highlight of the evening - The Christmas pantomime!
This year the story is of Snow White and her not-very-dwarfish seven dwarves! Father Paul starred as the foppish King, father of Snow White, and the dwarves parodied some ‘Strictly’ style dancing! Ann Lowe was the pantomime boy again - as the elegant Prince of Kidderminster, and all ended happily!
Thanks, as always, to Doreen and June for scripting the performance, and for their ad-lobbing, which always causes much hilarity!
The quiz results were read out, the raffle drawn, and then we sang three Carols together - a fitting end to our Christmas meeting.
