A LIQUIDATOR has now been appointed after long-running Amblecote holiday company Group Travel Ltd ceased trading.
The company based at Audnam, on the A491, had been running since 1982 and was popular with pensioners across the borough but shocked holidaymakers received a letter on January 16 saying their trips had been cancelled and the firm had ceased trading.
Paul Brindley, of Midlands Business Recovery in Sedgley, has since been appointed as liquidator, a note on the Group Travel website states, adding that all creditors will be notified by letter imminently.
He told the News today: “The company has ceased trading after over 35 years of successfully putting on tours and trips and there’s not much chance of it being resurrected.
“It’s a big disappointment both for customers and also for the directors and staff.
“There will be a letter coming out to customers who are owed money for trips booked and paid for.”
