A PLAN has been submitted to turn a home in Amblecote into a supported housing facility for young people trying to get back on their feet.
Sanctuary Ltd has applied for planning permission with Dudley Council to turn a property in Collett Close on the Penfields estate into a Pendulum Supported Living facility.
The company’s website says it offers a range of support services and housing care for people “with a variety of needs to be able to live as independent as possible”.
The organisation says it provides "high quality support and housing" in three to four-bedroom properties and that it works with young people aged 16 to 17 in need of assistance to return to independent living. Its website adds that it helps people to integrate back into the ‘real world’ and help them to “stay away from temptations of the past”.
Some of its clients include unaccompanied asylum seeking children, youngsters who have been living in residential settings or foster families and are ready to transition to independent living, and young people leaving young offender institutions and young people needing respite care.
