Once again Clent Gardening Club had a very enjoyable meeting on Friday, April 15th with a talk by Mike Dunnett from High View Gardens at Martley. His subject was “Year Round Colour in the Garden”.

Mike took us on a lovely tour through the four seasons illustrating this first of all with samples of different coloured plants and then followed it up with slides of various trees, shrubs and plants in vibrant colours. Especially striking were the brilliant red Acers next to yellow and orange ones.

We were all left with our own interpretation of how we would fill our own gardens with colour all the year round.

Finally we all took part in a quiz which was based on the talk itself, a surprise to everyone present, with a prize for the winner Our next meeting will be a little earlier than usual in the month , Friday May 20th which will be held at Belbroughton Parish Hall, Belbroughton at 7.30pm for 7.45pm.

This will take place in the form of a Quiz between Clent Gardening Club and Belbroughton Horticultural Society. This is an annual event which has taken place for many years and has a great competitive spirit between the two clubs; Mike Oliver will be the Quiz Master.

There will be the usual raffle followed by refreshments.

If you would like to join us please do, there will be a warm welcome for everyone.

Anyone interested in either joining the Club or just visiting please contact our Chairman Pat Orme on 01384 394451.
