The guild met on April 9 in the Community Centre in High Street.
Chair Chris Moy welcomed one visitor, Alva Staves who will be a full member next month. Following the normal business, names were taken for the Federation Annual luncheon in July.
Four members volunteered to form a quiz team for the Federation Interguild Quiz ,but it would nice to have another team ,we do have enough brain boxes.
We were reminded of the Federation Annual General Meeting ,members were urged attend ,especially if they have never been before.
A letter of thanks has been received from Discover U, thanking us for sending our "In Lieu Of Cards" collection to help their good work.
The various sections announced their forthcoming events .
The venue for our Christmas meal has been booked. This is important to us as it replaces our December meeting.
We did not have speaker this month, instead, Alexandra entertained us by performing a selection of songs mainly from the sixties and seventies. We really enjoyed these songs ,as they celebrated the idea of love and romance. All that was missing was the champagne. Chris Grove thanked Alexandra on our behalf.
On April 18 the Wednesday Club will meet to hear Chris Smith tell us about"The Great Explosion at Dudley Port". Non members are invited to join us at 7.30.
The speaker on May 14 will will be Terry Brearley ,who will speak about the NHS. As always .visitors will be welcomed.
